Ten fun things to do in San Antonio will be chosen each week to make researching for the next Friday celebration, date night, or family outing a little more simple.

  • 1.  Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer

Summer is almost over and the days are long and lazy and hot! San Antonio Botanical Garden is hosting a dog-friendly weekend for you and your canine friend! Beat the heat with the many pools of water that will be set up around the garden for your pup to cool off. Enjoy the beauty of the gardens with your dog and meet other furry friends along the way! If participating in Dog Days, please make sure your pet is on a leash and bring a $5 donation to help benefit local animal charities.

Get ready for an incredible River Walk tradition that's been around since 1969! The Ford Canoe Challenge allows you to test your canoe skills as you paddle down a ¼ mile course on the San Antonio River! This particular event offers you the only time that the city allows people to canoe in the downtown portion of the River Walk. While you may not choose to register for the event, you can still come and watch as a spectator! Registered participants are also invited to enter a costume contest! Get creative with your theme and think outside the box. Watch out for tipping canoes this Saturday!
